Taft is seeking a Billing Specialist to support our team inTaft’s Minneapolis office.

We are seeking a Billing Specialist with at least oneyears’ experience to join our Accounting Department in our Minneapolisoffice.  All Taft employees operate under a “Client First” philosophy — inall things, we seek to provide exceptional services to our clients.

Duties and Responsibilities:

·        Generates and editsclient pre-bills (BIM’s).

·        Ensures the accuracyand timely distribution of final bills.

·        Processeswrite-offs/write-downs and obtains proper approval when required.

·        Maintains theintegrity of the billing system information.

·        Responds to individualattorney requests and questions regarding specific bills and the billingprocess.

·        Adheres to establishedbilling cycle/cut-off dates.

·        Ensures compliancewith Taft’s billing policies and procedures.

·        Ability to workindependently and to organize and prioritize numerous tasks and complete themunder time restraints.

·        Responds to requestsrequiring analysis of client billing histories and other basic financialanalysis.

Requirements:

·        Associate’s degree inaccounting or business, or equivalent combination of education and experience.Minimum of one year general accounting or legal billing experience required.

·        Experience workingwith specialized accounting/billing software strongly preferred

·        Legal billingexperience, including electronic billing, preferred.

·        Strong interpersonalskills in order to communicate and follow instructions effectively fromattorneys and staff and provide information with courtesy and tact.

·        Proficiency in the useof spreadsheet applications including Excel.

·        Strong numericaptitude and attention to detail.
