Business Development Manager - Cleveland

Taft is seeking Business Development Manager to join our dynamic team of legal professionals.

 

The Business Development Manager develops and implements business development strategies and tactics to secure new business, drive client development opportunities, and favorably position assigned practice groups in the marketplace.

 

Essential Functions:

  • Works closely with BD Director (Litigation) and assigned litigation office groups to create, implement and manage business development plans for his or her groups to advance objectives and goals.
  • Supports day-to-day needs of practice group members and provides guidance to enhance the effectiveness of business development initiatives.
  • Provides support and assistance with practice group budget.
  • Develops customized capabilities materials to cultivate new business and prepares pitch materials and RFP responses. Monitors outcomes.
  • Advances cross-marketing efforts at the practice group level.
  • Seeks speaking/writing opportunities for attorneys and assists with preparation of presentation materials.
  • Manages special events and webinars associated with practice group and other activities.
  • Coaches attorneys on business development.
  • Works with the firm's Director of Branding and Digital Marketing to ensure brand compliance.
  • Works with Taft's social media and content marketing team to increase awareness of Taft's expertise and tell the Taft story through law updates, new items, blogs, social media postings, etc.
  • Assists with preparing and submitting ranking applications and award nominations (i.e., Chambers, Best Lawyers, and other practice-specific surveys).

 

Competencies

 
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Superior written and verbal communication, planning and organizational skills.
  • Strong project management, interpersonal and team building skills.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and communicate status.
  • Experience with marketing-technology tools, preferred.

 

Education and Experience:

 
  • Bachelor's degree with 5+ years of experience in professional services in a marketing and/or business development role.
  • Legal marketing background, strongly preferred.

 

Taft offers competitive compensation and a comprehensive benefit package, including medical, dental, vision, life, long term disability, flexible spending, 401K, Paid Time Off, paid holidays, bonus and more. The salary range for this position is $95.000/yr. – $125,000/yr. Actual compensation offer to candidate may vary from posted information based on work experience, education, and/or skill level.
