Taft is currently seeking a Technology Trainer to join our team in our Chicago, Cincinnati, Cleveland, Columbus, Dayton, Detroit (Southfield), Indianapolis or Minneapolis office.

We are seeking a Technology Trainer with one-to-three years’ experience to support our Chicago, Cincinnati, Cleveland, Columbus, Dayton, Detroit (Southfield), Indianapolis or Minneapolis office. A Technology Trainer plans, prepares and delivers training on the Firm’s technology to attorneys and staff..  All Taft employees operate under a “Client First” philosophy—in all things, we seek to provide exceptional services to our clients. 

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develops and Maintains a thorough working knowledge of the Firm's core software applications and computer systems.
  • Prepares outlines, handouts, and presentations related to Firm software using Taft branded media.
  • Delivers training via phone, web conferencing and in-person using professional delivery techniques (speaking, writing, etc.).
  • Assists Training Manager and Information Technology in connection with the planning and rollout of new software initiatives.
  • Works with attorneys and staff to identify where efficiencies can be achieved through effective utilization of the Firm's computer systems and helps identify process improvement opportunities.
  • Serves as an advanced support tier for local I.T. help desk staff on complex software problems and questions.
  • Travels to Taft office locations to deliver on-site training as needed.
  • Utilize eLearning authoring tools to create modules to educate attorneys and staff on various technology topics.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Demonstrated interpersonal skills including public speaking in order to effectively deliver curriculum, train staff, and understand user needs.
  • Demonstrated writing skills in order to develop instructional materials for a variety of technology knowledge levels.
  • Strong customer service skills.
  • Excellent time management and project management skills.

Education and Experience:

  • Technical knowledge of computer science and/or curriculum development as normally acquired through an Associate or Bachelor's degree in a computer or technology related field, or equivalent experience.
  • One to three years of work experience as a software trainer, preferably in a law firm environment.
  • Advanced MS Office experience required.
  • Knowledge of legal software strongly preferred.
  • Experience producing various legal documents in a legal support position desired.
